From Ms. Detweiler:PTA reflections contest entries are due tomorrow to Ms. Detweiler in Room 221! The theme this year is “show your voice”. The categories are visual arts, dance choreography, literature, film production, photography and music composition. Again, the theme is “show your voice”.

All 6th graders trying out for Jefferson’s boys soccer team, please report to the upper field after school today.

From Ms. Dunbar Attention Garden Club Members:  Tomorrow is our last official meeting for Fall Garden Club. This week we will be doing a number of tasks to help us close down the garden, and we will be collecting more native pollinator seeds to package and share with our community. COMPOST CLUB continues all year long, and SPRING GARDEN CLUB resumes in mid-March or early-April!

From Ms. Dunbar & Ms. Waring:  READING BUDDIES will begin on Fridays in November!If you enjoy reading, especially reading and interacting with younger children, consider becoming a TJ Reading Buddy to 2nd graders at Fleet Elementary School. This is a Community Service opportunity that promotes Literacy in our community. Permission slips are now available in the Library.

From Ms. Riley:Hear ye, Hear ye! All ye Yellowjacket Kings, Queens, Knights and Nobles. Thou hast been summoned to join us in the royal theater to be delighted by players of our court. Thine minds will be blown by the performance of ShakesPLOSION by Andrew Geha. The royal festivities will take place on 3rd and 4th day of November and commence at 6:30pm. Tickets are $5 and can be procured before the show.

From Ms. Burton:“The answer to the Trivia question yesterday was TRUE, 90% of addiction begins in teenage years. The winner of the raffle is….” (winner in the morning) “Today’s Trivia question is  Here’s today’s Red Ribbon Week Trivia questionName 2 decisions which influence the use of substances.Submit your answers in Ms. Burton’s box before the end of the day! Include your name! Don’t forget tomorrow wear your RED tomorrow!

From Mr. Siegel: Pickup basketball and indoor soccer will be in the gym today after school. Boys soccer tryouts for 6th graders is after school today out back on the field. Attention Jefferson Car Club members, see Mr. Siegel at lunch to get a permission slip to come to this Sunday’s big car show.

From Mr. Sam:Yesterday the girls ultimate frisbee team played against Williamsburg Middle School. The yellow jackets stopped many offensive plays from their 8th grade offense. 7th graders Elsa and Sophia worked really well together on the field. Great job everyone! See you at practice today after school. The next game will be at Kenmore Middle School on Monday. The BOYS ULTIMATE team will also played against KENMORE. (please repeat the announcement) The BOYS ULTIMATE team and the GIRLS ULTIMATE team will play against KENMORE on MONDAY Oct. 31st. Shepardson:Calling all artists!  Deadlines are approaching for two popular art contests.The first is “The Latino Youth Leadership Poster Contest” the deadline is November 4.The Second is the “Martin Luther King Jr. Literary & Visual Arts Contest”, the deadline is November 18.Submission forms and information are available on the bulletin board outside the art room. From Ms. Russo:Join us for Game Groups today during 6th and 7th grade lunch! Choose from Uno, Pictionary, Apples to Apples, Kids Against Maturity, and more!!We will meet every Thursday in Room 106.Come get a pass from Ms. Black or Ms. Russo. Everyone is welcome!
