Academic Testing

ACCESS for ELLs

The ACCESS for ELLs is an English language proficiency assessment administered to students in grades K-12 who have been identified as English language learners (ELLs).

Students with a WIDA level of 1-4 will be receiving a letter via Parent Vue about the ACCESS for ELLs testing that will take place when we return from Winter Break. Between January 19 to April 16, your child will be asked to return to school in person to take this annual assessment of their language skills in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking in English. This is a federal requirement as well as one for the state of Virginia and this assessment cannot be administered virtually. More information will be shared regarding the test schedule for our school.  Any questions or concerns you may have regarding this test administration should be communicated with the following staff. Thank you for your understanding and support.
