From Coach Detweiler and Coach Ammon, Soccer tryouts for 6th graders are today. Tryouts for 7th and 8th graders are Thursday.
From Ms. Riley and Ms. Rosegrant:Do you love performing? Have you always wanted to be in a play? Do you enjoy spending a lot of time with the most fun students in school and a couple of the best adults in school too? Come audition for Jefferson’s Fall Play! Auditions will be held on Tuesday, September 10 In the theatre after school. Pick up an audition packet from Ms.Riley in the Drama Room (120), or Ms.Rosegrant in the library. Auditions are open to any Jefferson student in any grade. See you Tuesday! Interested in tech jobs/ helping backstage? Stay tuned for an announcement about a tech meeting soon!
From Ms. Dunbar: Hello Jefferson! Garden Club begins THIS FRIDAY. Please plan to stay after school to help us harvest our Plot Against Hunger. You will need to find your own way home since late buses have not started yet and don’t always run on Fridays. We will include a few Mondays in our schedule this Fall for those of you who cannot attend on Fridays. For more information, see me (Ms. Dunbar) in the Library during TA today or tomorrow.
From Counseling: Students, today is the last day to request a schedule change. Please speak to your counselor if needed. From Coach Vogel and Coach Leonberger: “The Tennis season is starting! 7th grade tryouts are after school today, Wednesday, September 4th, and 6th grade tryouts will be after-school on Thursday, September 5th! Dress for the weather! We will have a few spare rackets available but bring your own if you have one.”
From Mr. Clark: Good morning TJMS!The JIBMUN Club will be having a grab-n-go fundraiser after school tomorrow Thursday September 5th. Come by and grab some chips and soda for your trip home or after school event. We will be selling in the Gold half of the cafeteria after the final bell. Get a tasty snack and help our Club. From the Jefferson main office: Have you noticed the difference in the Jefferson theatre lobby and the new doors and entrances? APS had the new entrance on the left built to make our building safer. That new entrance is called the vestibule. Ms. Luu, our attendance person, has her office there now. Here’s what the vestibule is for:You should enter through the vestibule if you arrive late to school.You should go to the vestibule if someone if dropping off items and you are called to come pick them up.You should go to the vestibule if you are being picked up early.You should enter through the vestibule if you left for an appointment and are returning back to school.
From Dr. Woody-Pope : For this week, remember we hold our grade level safety assemblies during morning TA.Per the TJMS calendar, they will be, from 8-8:30AM.
- Wednesday, Grade 7
- Thursday, Grade 8
For assembly day, TA teacher directions:
- Take attendance & watch morning announcements.
- Wait for your team to be called to the auditorium. We will call teams to the auditorium by teams. For grade 8, we will call by upstairs TA and downstairs TA.
- Escort you TA to the auditorium and sit with them.
September is Deaf Awareness Month.
