Here’s a special announcement: In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, which goes from September 15th to October 15th, each week this month, I will be sharing a Latinx Quote of the week!This week’s quote is:Si Se Puede! Yes, we can!This was originally said by Cesar Chavez during a 1972 fast while he was protesting for better working conditions and wages for farmworkers. The quote was then used again by Dolores Huerta here in the US as she was rallying with farm workers who were not allowed to strike. Though it is only 3 words, its significance is mighty! Si Se Puede!

Here’s another special announcement: [Ava/Miranda ] “The TJMS GSA is back! Come to Ms. Leonberger’s room, room 219,  after school on Thursday, September 18th  to hang out and discuss issues and topics related to our LGBTQ+ community. All are welcome!”

From Coach Sam: Good morning TJMS,The Girls’ Ultimate Frisbee team will have their first game today after school at Gunston Middle School. Remember to meet immediately after dismissal by the REC playground. We will leave at 2:45pm with or without you. It is not too late to join. Any girls interested in ultimate frisbee can attend practice tomorrow on the lower field.

From Mr. Clark:The JIBMUN Club will meet today after school for our weekly meeting. We welcome all those interested in the challenges of world events and how best to resolve them, while still having fun. We are here promote our bake sale that is happening outside after school today and tomorrow. Now here’s a special announcement about today’s SCA candidate speeches for 6th grade TAs: At the end of the announcements we will hear up to 1 minute long speeches from the Dolphin, Owl, and Stingray candidates. Then only the Stingrays will vote since they are the only team with more than two candidates for team representatives.  vote on the Google Form in the TA lesson for the candidates with the best ideas.
