Special congratulations to the following players for their wins: Dahia Joseph in Girls Singles, Kira Komlodi and Radhika Bhatnagar in Girls Doubles, Vicente Bernudez and Ezekiel Wambura in Boys Doubles, and Cate and Sean Kelly in Mixed Doubles. Thank you to all of our tennis Yellowjackets! See you after school TODAY in the cafeteria with all of your gear to catch the sports bus to our away game at Kenmore”
From Ms. Burton:“ Good morning, Yellowjackets! October is Bullying Prevention Month, and we want to raise awareness about this important issue. Did you know that bullying can have serious consequences for both the victim and the bully? True or False: Bullying only happens in person. Let’s work together to create a safe and respectful school environment for all. If you answered False, you’re correct! Bullying can also occur online, through cyberbullying. Stay tuned for more information throughout the month to prevent bullying in our school.”
From Mr. Carter: Math Counts will meet today in room 255, Mr. Carter’s room. All grades welcome, come ready for a math challenge! Here’s a video:https://somup.com/c06nqbBq4w
From Ms. Wall, Ms. Zehren and Ms. Rosegrant: Jefferson’s book club, TAB Club, starts Wednesday during lunches. Want to be able to read new books and talk about them? Want to get ideas of great things to read? Interested in fun book-related things? Come to TAB in the Library on Wednesday during your lunch! October 1st – 7th is Banned Books Week. The theme is Let Freedom Read! This week is a time to celebrate your freedom to read and to draw attention to the dangers of censorship. When we ban books, we’re closing off readers to people, places, and perspectives. But when we stand up for stories, we unleash the power that lies inside every book.
