The yellowjackets won against their three squads with a final score of 11-4. Today we will hear about the candidates for the US legislative branch. For the US Senate, we have Senator Tim Kaine, a Democrat, running for reelection to create jobs and protect rights. Conor: We have a Republican candidate for the US Senate, Hung Cao, a retired Navy Captain running on border security. There are no third party candidates running for the US Senate. Leona: For the US House of Representatives we have four candidates running. We have Congressman Don Beyer, a Democrat, running for reelection on climate change & protecting rights. Conor: We have a Republican candidate, Jerry Torres, for the US House running on affordable living. Leona: We have an independent candidate, David Kennedy, running on love thy neighbor and respect differences. Conor: We have another independent candidate, Bentley Hensel, for the US House running on restoring unions and spreading technology. Both: Thank you!    Here’s a special announcement (Henry and Aaron):Here’s a special announcement:Do you care about the soldiers dying for your freedom and safety? Good morning Yellow Jackets, I am Aaron, and I am Henry. We are here to talk about our community service project called “save the soldiers.” These soldiers are dying for our freedom but they aren’t getting the daily comforts we all enjoy. We will have a “whatever we will call it” after school on Thursday the 31st. We will be collecting things Such as food and toiletries. We look forward to seeing you there.  Here’s another special announcement (Harvest festival): Another Community Project announcement:Heyab: Hi, my name is Heyab Nicole: And my name is Nicole Heyab: On Tuesday, October 29th and Wednesday November 6th we will be having a snack sale as a fundraiser for our community project Nicole: in awareness for breast cancer month and in recognition of child cancer There will be soda and chips sold for one dollar each Heyab: The sale will be outside of the 7th grade doors right after school Nicole: The money we raise will go towards gifts we are making for breast cancer and children’s cancer patients at the Virginia Hospital Center Both: See you there!  From the PTA – The PTA reflections contest is coming to a close. Entries are due this Thursday, October 31st.  The theme this year is “accepting imperfection”. The categories are visual arts, dance choreography, literature, film production, photography and music composition. Again, the theme is “accepting imperfection”. Entries are due October 31st and should be turned in to Ms. Detweiler in room 221.
