Here’s Ms. Wall with a special announcement: Jefferson’s 2024 Battle of the Books is almost here! For those of you who are new this year to Jefferson, this is an annual book tournament–kind of like the NCAA basketball March Madness but with books. Your reading teachers and librarians have selected 16 great newish books that we want you to know about. There are thrillers, graphic novels, fantasies, nonfiction…books that make you think, cry, and laugh. We’ve made up a Sweet 16 bracket and have book video trailers for you to learn about them. Starting next Thursday and Friday, right after the regular announcements, we’ll be showing the videos on the announcements. Then, right after, everyone should go to the link in their TA Canvas course and vote for their favorites–either the book you read and enjoyed more…or the book you’d more like to read. Winners in each matchup will move on to the next round. The bracket will be posted in the library window really soon–come take a look! Which book do you think will win? And remember that all these books are available for you to read! Come check one out from the Library–or go to Sora and Destiny Discover to look for ebooks and audiobooks! May the best book win!
