Morning Announcements January 29, 2025

Today is an Anchor Day.  From Mr. Carter:Remember that the Math Counts competition is on Saturday! From Ms. Wall:TAB Club meets today during lunches in the Library.  Passes are being given to TA teachers to help you get lunch quickly.   Today’s hot entrees at lunch are:  Chicken tendersBean and cheese pupusaand Halal chicken sandwich Today’s weather will be very sunny with a 0% chance of rain. The temperature today will be as low as 37 degrees F and as high as 51 degrees F. There is no school for students on Thursday and Friday.  Thursday is a professional learning day for staff; Friday is grade preparation day.  We’ll see you back on Monday.Sunday is Groundhog Day.  Some people say that if Punxsutawney Phil, a groundhog in the small town of Punxsutawney, PA, sees his shadow, there will be 6 more weeks of frigid weather.  If Phil looks down, and does not see his shadow, then Spring is on its way. From Dr. Woody-Pope:TJMS Latinas!  On Saturday, February 8th you are invited to participate in a special event at Catholic University designed to inspire and empower young Latinas who might be interested in the field of science, technology, engineering, and math.We would love for students from Thomas Jefferson Middle School to join us in this enriching event.  During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to meet inspiring STEM role models, engage in hands-on engineering projects, and enjoy an interactive art activity.  You will also get a chance to explore Catholic University’s campus located in Washington, DC.Transportation is available.  Please see Ms. Ferrara, Ms. Martinez, ​or Ms. Rodriguez for more information.
