Ms. Kirsten Wall, Librarian (she/her)
I grew up in Arlington (Taylor Elementary, Williamsburg Intermediate School, W-L High School) and have worked here at Jefferson for quite a while. I love reading and listening to lots of different genres. My all-time middle school favorites include War that saved my life and the Ranger’s Apprentice series. Recent new favorite authors are Tracy Deonn (Legendborn cycle), Donna Barba Higuera (Last cuentista), and Angeline Boulley (Firekeeper’s daughter). I’m left-handed but right-footed. When I’m not in a library, I like to be outside (visiting national parks, hiking, geocaching, running, rowing, reading) and watch Duke basketball.
Ms. Jamie Zehren, Librarian (she/her)
While I’ve only been here since March 2023, I already feel like this school is a great fit for me. Before Jefferson, I worked in Fauquier County, where I grew up, and Orlando, FL, where I went to the University of Central Florida. (Go Knights!) I love reading fantasy, science fiction, and I can always recommend a good manga to start. In my spare time I play video games, watch too many tv shows, and spoil my cat, Zelda.
Ms. Amelia Rosegrant, Library Assistant (she/her)
This is my 13th year in APS, my 5th year at Jefferson, and I absolutely love it here. I grew up in Falls Church, got my degree in Dance from Columbia College Chicago, and ended up right back here. I love welcoming students into the library for book checkouts, coloring, word puzzle solving, and just a safe space to be. I also co-sponsor the GSA at Jefferson and work with our theatre department for their Fall and Spring productions. My favorite things to read lately are murder mysteries and realistic fiction. My favorite non-book things are glitter, coffee, squishmallows, stickers, and my wonderful cat Tillie (short for Matilda).
