Student Awards and Highlights

SPOTLIGHT ON GREAT JEFFERSON STUDENTS DOING GREAT THINGS!

These Members of Jefferson’s Model UN Team Won Awards at the 2/4 Conference in Washington, DC:

Outstanding Delegate: Noah Hammerman

Best Delegate (Top Award in his Committee): HeeDoh Kang

These students were recognized for their excellent writing skills in the 2023 regional Scholastic Art and Writing Contest:

Honorable Mention for Memoir: Cate LaGarde, Alexandra Mooney, Sumra Rahman, and Claire Schwentker. 

Silver Key Award for Memoir: Oleg Kaitov and Kai Simkiss. 

Gold Key Award for Memoir: Harper Rath and Emma Tramontozzi (These two students will now advance to the next level of competition).

Arlington Scholastic Art and Writing Contest Winners:

Silver Keys: Dante Barrios-Klingle, Melissa Guzman-Loaisiga, and Tori Lazo-Bashford

Gold Keys: Ashley Aguilar, Vanessa Benitez, Aya Cooper, Bruna De Azevedo Moreira-Araujo, Jack Ezzelle, Cate LaGarde, Mireiza Rivas-Verastegui and Rei Sovada (These students’ works will now move to national level competition).

Great Performance by these members of our Jefferson Chorus as they move on to the Honors Choir Ensemble on Friday and Saturday: Anabelle Caballero, Sherleen Cespedes, Mariia Sharaievska, Addie Schimmel, Caroline Tramontozzi, and Robert Weger.  These students competed against other choir students in Arlington and Eastern Fairfax County to earn a spot in this group!
