Today is an A Day!

Today is National Interpreter Appreciation Day! We want to thank all our BEST OF THE BEST ASL and Spanish speaking interpreters here at TJ who work tirelessly to make sure our students, staff and parents get the communication access and the support they need! Please show our incredible interpreters your appreciation by signing their posters in the main hallway by the library!

Understanding and managing your mental health is just as important as your physical health. On Mondays, we’ll be sharing tips and facts to help you take care of your mental well-being. Remember, it’s okay to talk about how you’re feeling and to ask for help if you need it. Together, let’s prioritize mental health and support each other every step of the way!”

From Ms. Wall: TAB Club meets today during lunches in the Library!  Bring your lunch and come right up.  Today is our penultimate meeting!The Library is only open for TAB during lunches.The Library is closed after school today.

From Ms. Zehren:Tomorrow is the Library Movie Night! If you haven’t turned in your permission form yet, you have until tomorrow morning. No signed permission form, no movie! Don’t forget your pillows and blankets, and you can drop them off in my office before TA. Make sure you have a way home after the movie, because the late bus leaves at 4:00 pm. See you tomorrow at 2:45!

From the track and field coaches, Yesterday all Arlington County middle schools travelled to Williamsburg Middle School for the county track events.  Simply attending the county meet requires hard work and dedication to the sport. Many yellowjackets scored points for our team placing in the top 6 in each category.  The following athletes received first place: Dru Kuawa 600 meter and Miles McBride 400 meter. Dru has been undefeated all three years.  The following athletes received second place: Luke Hughes 50 meter and Lena Sullivan 800 meter. The following athletes received third place: Micah Morton 50 meter and Isaac Alebachew 800 meter.  The final standings are:In 6th place with a score of 73 points, Kenmore Middle School.In 5th place with a score of 86.5 points, Gunston Middle School. In 4th place with a score of 87.3 points, Swanson Middle School.In 3rd place with a score of 168.83 points, Dorothy Hamm Middle School.In 2nd place with a score of 197.5 points, Thomas Jefferson Middle School.In 1st place with a score of 220.83 points, Williamsburg Middle School.  Congratulations to the Williamsburg wolves, the county champions for 2024.  The track coaches are proud of all the athletes that participated in the county meet. Thank you for an amazing season. An announcement will be made for the end of the season celebration.
