ANNOUNCEMENTS Today is an A Day.
Picture day is today! Students will receive a “camera card” in TA that you will hand to the photographer when they take their picture. If you do not receive a camera card, you can fill out a blank one once you get to the theater. Teachers have a schedule. Also, buy your yearbook today for its lowest price of $35. Use the QR code on the TJMS website, canvas, or parent square to purchase. Thank you.
From Coach Sam: Yesterday the girls ultimate frisbee team hosted their first home game against Swanson Middle School. The yellow jackets bested the admirals 14 to 6 under the leadership of Captain Juliet Thorn and Jillian Forester. Keep up the great work! Practice today after school. There is still room on the team for any new players!
From Coach Vogel and Coach Leonberger, there will be tennis team practice after school today from 2:45 to 4. See you on the courts!
From Ms. Dunbar: Garden Club will NOT meet this week. We will resume next Friday and every Friday throughout October.
From your PTA: The first TJMS PTA Restaurant Night of the year is at Lost Dog (2920 Columbia Pike) on Thursday September 28, 2023, from 11 am – 9 pm. Lost Dog is donating 10% of all participating orders (dine-in, takeout, and pickup orders) to raise funds for PTA programs that benefit our school community. When placing your order, mention Thomas Jefferson Middle School PTA, and we will get 10% of your meal’s price donated back!
From Ms. Jenks: Hello, Yellow Jackets! The PTA Reflections contest is back! This year the theme is “I am hopeful because….” Start thinking about how you can express yourself through visual art, literature, music, film, photography, or dance! Here is a short video to watch and get inspired! Show them who you are! https://youtu.be/MuaoV5TyfBI?si=ntGPOBXLPl20U7zW
From Ms. Wall: Study is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday after school in the Library. If you would like a quiet place to get your homework done before you go home, please come to the Library right after school and sign in. A teacher will be here to help, and the Library is open until 3:30pm. You can walk home or get picked up then, or you can then go wait for the late bus in the commons with Mr. Siegel.
