ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today is a B Day.

From Emma Tramontozzi and Juliet Milder. For our community project we will be having a drive at TJ. Please support our community project by donating supplies to support Doorways, a women and children’s shelter. Drop off supplies to the bins around school. You can find them by the 8th grade and 6th grade stairs on the second floor. Also, check the TA slides for what you can donate. Doorways is looking for specific supplies so please only donate what is listed in the dock. Again, you can find this doc in the TA slides. The drive will last from March 13th to March 17th, next week. Please donate and thank you for your support!

From the Library and your reading teachers:Today is your chance in TA to learn about the remaining 8 titles in our Battle of the Books!   There are books with secrets, award winners, and realistic fiction, and a category called “Dead.”

After Announcements, please click on the blue highlit link in your grade-level TA lesson.  That link will take you to a new Battle of the Books Google form.

For each pair of books, you should watch videos and read the slide to learn about the books.  Then vote for your favorite…or the book you want to read more.  You will do that for 4 matches.  Then submit your form.

TAs might want to watch the videos as a class, but every student should have the form open and vote for their own choices.  This Monday, one book won by only 3 votes.  Every. Vote. Counts.Vote during TA.  If you don’t finish, polls stay open until 4pm.  Results will be announced on Monday. These books are available to check out (or you can put a hold on a title) from the Jefferson Library after TA.  Or you can check out ebooks or audiobooks of these titles in Destiny Discover.  See us in the Library if you have questions!

From Ms. Burton:Do you like recording on TikTok or use IG reels or like filming in general? Well this is the competition for you! March 20th – March 26th is National Drug and Alcohol Fact Week! Student Services are holding a #MyWhy Story video competition and the winner’s video will be shown on the morning announcement, during that week. Deadline to submit to Ms. Burton is March 15th.

From Mr. J Anderson:”Calling all TJMS artists! This year our yearbook staff has decided to include a page dedicated to art created by students here at TJ. Please submit your best artwork in the Google Form located in the TA calendar today. You will need to also include your FIRST and LAST name, your GRADE, and the TITLE of the artwork.
