Yellow Jackets Period

General Information

• Yellow Jackets Period (or “YJP”) is a branch of the Arlington Tiered System of Support (ATSS) at Thomas Jefferson Middle School.
• YJP generally meets Tuesday-Friday from 8:03am-8:33am. This schedule sometimes changes due to special school events.
• During each YJP Rotation, students will be assigned to a teacher to receive help in a subject, participate in extension/enrichment activities, or to learn something new in order to support every student’s personal learning needs.
• All YJP Rotations are connected to either the APS Curriculum or the IB MYP Curriculum.
• The YJP Rotations for 2019-2020 are as follows:
  • Rotation 1: September 24, 2019-November 1, 2019
  • Rotation 2: November 6, 2019-December 20, 2019
  • Rotation 3: January 14, 2020-February 21, 2020
  • Rotation 4: February 25, 2020-April 3, 2020
  • Rotation 5: April 15, 2020-May 22, 2020
• Students and families can provide feedback on the areas in which the student may need support or extension during Student-Led Conferences on Friday, October 25 and Friday, March 6.
