Regional Science Fair

This year completing and participating in a science fair project is optional for 7th and 8th grade students. This will be an independent project for students interested in participating.  Assistance with the Science Fair projects will be offered after school by appointment. Please contact your science teacher if you are interested and would like more information.

 

New! TJMS Students honored at 2021 VJAS Awards Ceremony  We are pleased to announce that at this year’s Virginia Junior Academy of Science (VJAS) Virtual Research Symposium, TJMS 8th grade students — Jarin Earle and Dylan Tallis, received recognition and awards for their scientific research presentations. Jarin Earle – received Honorable Mention in Engineering & Technology, for his project titled: How a Do-It-Yourself Mindset Became the Impetus for a Homemade Smart Mirror; Dylan Tallis – received 2nd place in Ecology & Earth Sciences, for her project titled: The Effect of Salinity on Soybean Growth. If you would like to view the awards announcements, here is the link to the recorded program (starts at 12:21): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rz_PEPqwUR8 Thank you and congratulations to our students!
