Today is a B Day.
From Ms. Riley:Auditions for Jefferson’s spring musical, Newsies Jr., are today from 2:35-5:00 in the theater. Bring your audition packet.
From Ms. Dunbar & Ms. Waring:Reading Buddies meets this Friday! We will be reading with Ms. Clark’s 2nd grade class.Remember: there are no late buses on Fridays, so you will need to plan your own way home.
From Ms. Leonberger:”Do you love death, rot, and decay? Do you agree with Mr. Siegel that composting is one of the coolest ways to give back to the planet? Then come to Compost Club TODAY, November 29th! We will start in Ms. Leonberger’s room, room 284 before going outside to turn and add to the compost. Snacks will be provided and Ms. Leonberger will have the screen printing materials if you want your own Compost Club shirt. ”
From Mr. Gavin:“Attention Wrestlers! Wrestling club starts after school TODAY! Come down to the gym to learn some of the fundamentals of wrestling. Dress out in the locker room then join us in the back of the gym. No special equipment needed! Any questions, stop by Mr. Gavin’s room, room 231.”
From Ms. T and Ms. Tyler:If you are a musician who would like to learn how to music in jazz style, sign up for the Jefferson Jazz Band!The Jazz Band is open to experienced musicians–you already need to know how to play an instrument to start. ANY student who plays guitar, bass, or piano may join. Students who play brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments are also encouraged to join, but you must already be in band with Ms. T to be in jazz band.
The Jazz Band Information Session is THIS THURSDAY, December 1 from 2:40pm-4pm. Meet Ms. Tyler (our Jazz Band director), learn more about Jazz Band, and play through the audition music. Bring your instrument and good vibes with you!
From Mr. Siegel: Remember, students at APS middle and high schools are eligible for smart trip cards that allow you to ride the ART bus for free. If you would like to get your free card go to the announcements tab under your canvas grade level t/a and click on the announcement about ART bus cards, it will take you to a link to fill out. Students age 14 and older are allowed to use the exercise equipment in the rec center, however, they must first attend an orientation course at the rec to show you the basics about the machines. Send Mr. Siegel a message over canvas to get a link to register for the course.
