Today is a B Day.

From Madame Moran:Crotchet Club will meet again today, Tuesday, March 7 after school until 3:30 pm in Room 239.  No experience needed but if you have a project you are working on, please feel free to bring it with you.  Ms. Jenks and Madame Moran look forward to seeing you!

From Ms. DunbarAttention 8th Graders: if your Community Project addresses food insecurity in Arlington, you may want to volunteer in our school’s Plot Against Hunger. Consider staying after school today. See Ms. Dunbar for more information. Here’s a special announcement:(Ms. Dunbar–video)

From Ms. Russo:After a winter hiatus, kickball is back on. See you, tomorrow, Wednesday, out on the field after school! All grade levels and people who have never played before are welcome!

From Ms. Wall, Ms. Z and your Reading Teachers:Thanks to all who voted in yesterday’s first day of our Battle of the Books!  It was great to see so many of you participating!  Now here are the first 4 books to make it into next week’s Elite 8 round:

From coach Gavin, attention wrestlers.There will have an end of season wrestling pizza party this Wednesday in room 59, the health room.If you were on the wrestling team, stop by room 59 for a slice of ‘za. We will watch a replay of the Big 10 wrestling finals.Any questions? See coach Gavin in room 231.

From Ms. Burton:Do you like recording on TikTok or use IG reels or like filming in general? Well this is the competition for you! March 20th – March 26th is National Drug and Alcohol Fact Week! Student Services are holding a #MyWhy Story video competition and the winner’s video will be shown on the morning announcement, during that week. Deadline to submit to Ms. Burton is March 15th.

From Mr. Sam:Track and Field starts next week on Monday, March 13th for all 6th graders only. Last year the fastest 50 meter time for 12 year old girls was 7.6 seconds. The fastest time for 12 year old boys was 7.05 seconds.Track and Field starts next week on Tuesday, March 14th for 7th/8th graders only. The fastest 70 meter time for 14 year old girls was 10.61 seconds. The fastest time for 14 year old boys was 8.71 seconds. Anyone can join Track and Field as long as you have turned in a sports physical this school year. If you have any questions, please see Coach Sam or Mr. Siegel.
