Need Help? Just Ask!

Do you need help? Just ask. Your school social worker is here to connect Arlington families with the growing available resources in Arlington county. If you are in need, or know someone in need and are not sure where to turn, Elizabeth Brady, TJMS school social worker can help.  This COVID-19 pandemic has affected us in so many ways, and there is help available. There are resources for food, as well as rental assistance, help with utilities, and other resources available in our community. If you do not know where to turn, please contact her at 571-419-4124, or by email elizabeth.brady@apsva.us. Here are some additional resources for families:

  • Unemployment information comes from the Virginia Employment Commission http://www.vec.virginia.gov/unemployed/online-services
  • Food assistance is for Virginians who qualify. Information on meal services for children by texting “food” or “comida” to 877-877
  • See the flyer that summarizes resources available for low income families and some community meal resources available to all. In English and Spanish  (please link the attached flyers here).

Below is additional help for families who are in quarantine due to testing positive for COVID-19. Families can call 703-228-1300 to ask for food delivery based on the criteria below. If you have questions or concerns, please let Ms. Brady know (elizabeth.brady@apsva.us).
