Today is an A Day!
From the track and field coaches, Last week the track and field team travelled to Dorothy Hamm Middle School. TJMS had some amazing races and jumps. Great job yellow jackets! First place for running events went to Luke, Miles, Dru, Nolan, and Lena.First place for jumping events went to Lea, Michael GM, Dahia, and Nolan. In the high jump, Nolan jumped 5’2″, his personal best. Nolan also finished first in the 600.6th grader Lea Komlodi high jumped a personal best of 4’2″, which was as high as all other girl competitors in all grades.Miles, Dru, and Lena got first place in distance runs and remain undefeated in the 400, 600, and 800.Luke also finished first in the 50 meter dash. Today is our last open track practice for everyone who wants to join. Tomorrow is our last dual meet. It will be here at TJ against Kenmore. On Thursday, field event athletes from all APS middle schools will be here for the county field events. Come out and support your fellow yellow jackets and see who really is the best of the best. Good luck to those competing!

Today is Earth Day! The theme this year is “Planet vs. Plastics,” to increase public awareness of the bad effects that plastic pollution has on the health of humans, animals, and the environment. What can you do to use less plastic?
Here’s a special announcement: This Friday, April 26 at 5:30pm we will have our International Night with dancers, food trucks and more outside by the garden. International Night will feature our Mongolian musicians, Bolivian dancers, African drummers, Irish dancers, and our own Orchestra. We will have a Henna station, a Cinco de Mayo food truck, an ice cream truck, and pizza. Come out and join us!
