Here’s a special announcement:  [Marvielyn et al.]Good Morning. I’m Nora, I’m Paige, and I’m Marvielyn. Oh, no. You suddenly feel your stomach rumbling with hunger and desire for appetizing snacks!   All:  Well, that’s no problem! Paige:  We’ll be selling chips, cookies, popsicles, sodas, etc. during international night on Friday (today), starting at 5:30pm as a way of fundraising for our community project. Our community project is working towards ending gun violence in communities. Nora:  According to a report by the CDC, 46,728 lives were lost due to gun violence in 2023. Many gun injuries are caused by improper gun storage, leading to children and young adults having access to guns. Nora:  Studies backed up by researchers, healthcare professionals, and even gun owners say storing firearms safely can redue gun deaths and injuries, and have demonstrated decreased risks of suicide among adolescents. Marvielyn:  For our fundraiser, 75% of the donations will be donated to BradyUnited.Org and Everytownforgunsaftey.org.  Paige:  These are organizations that are working towards getting rid of gun violence in communities in the U.S., helping to support victims of gun violence, and promoting safe storage of guns. All:  Thank you for the support, and we’ll see you there!

Now here’s another special announcement:[Vardhini and Izzy]Vardhini- Hello, my name is VardhiniIzzy – and my name is Izzy. Vardhini, Ghita, Raina and I are donating to AFAC as a part of our community project.Vardhini – This is just a reminder that we are conducting a food drive from April 22nd to May 5th.Izzy – All you have to do is show your teacher you donated food. Your teacher will then provide you with a google form for you to complete out.Vardhini – TA teachers, please just keep the food in your TA. It will be collected during 8th grade lunch, which is 12:27 to 1:02 pm, by one of us four.BOTH – Thank you
