About Your Teacher

Mrs. Heather Boda has been teaching Family and Consumer Science since 1989.  She started her career in Canada, before moving to Arlington where she completed her Master’s degree at Virginia Tech.  Mrs Boda previously taught at Swanson and Yorktown, and is delighted to be joining the Jefferson faculty this year.

Mrs Boda loves to travel with her family, both in North America and abroad.  She grew up in Canada, enjoyed living in Africa for two years as a child, and later in Oxford, England, where she taught Child Care at a community college there.

Mrs Boda teaches 8th grade Life Management, 7th grade Teen Living, and 6th grade Exploratory FACS.  She enjoys helping her students learn new skills for independent living, and become confident chefs in the kitchen!
